The incredible bathroom makeover
Hi guys! I am finally back blogging after a long break due to many projects going on. As some of you know, apart from my love of interior design, I am a big lover of gardens and the spring/summer time are always crazy busy for me in the garden. But the garden is under control now ( I think :)) so I can switch my focus to interior design again.
But let's go back to the main reason for this blog post...I want to show you a recent bathroom makeover that I worked on a few months ago. It was kind of a brain teaser project as the old layout of the bathroom was rather complicated with weird wall angles throughout the bathroom, its water installation and the sewage connection. What's more, the bathroom is really tiny! Basically, this space needed a huge change at all levels starting from installing floor heating, getting rid of a bath and replacing it with a walk-in shower, moving the toilet, moving the vanity and hiding those peculiar wall angles.
My client is a loft/industrial style lover so I needed to make sure that some distinctive elements of those styles are incorporated into the design. I focused mainly on using concrete lookalike tiles, black accents throughout the bathroom, industrial lighting, but I also had to take into consideration the client's wish to have some wooden elements in the design. We came up with the idea of using wooden lookalike tiles in the shower area. We found these beautiful tiles that not only imitated a wood finish but also had a nice texture that kind of reminded us of sauna interiors.
